Welcome to the Garden
It all started with a dream both David and Jossilyn had when they began their family together in 2005. Follow along on our journey as we grow our desert garden in Roosevelt, Utah.
Each week we will highlight new plants, herbs or produce that we are growing and have available to the public.
Plant of the week:
Rocky Mountain Bee Plant
Over the past few weeks we've been able to watch the Rocky Mountain Bee Plant take over in our fields. This is very exciting to watch because not only is this a native plant to Utah, it has medicinal properties as well.
We hadn't seen any signs of it until 2 years ago when one appeared in the spring and we were able to identify it. Once we were able to identify it, research all the information that we could- we decided to let it go to seed. We wanted to continue to enjoy the Bee plant for many years and let it thrive on our property. It has thrived indeed and we cant believe how many we have growing in the fields.
Jossilyn wants to continue to study this plant and hopes to use it in a tea blend that would be available to the public soon. We hope you enjoy its beauty like we have.
